Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed

  • Rating: 3/5
  • A woman loses her mother and proceeds to self destruct — she sabotages her marriage, gets promiscuous, becomes a heroin addict, then decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail to self-reflect and rebuild herself
  • This type of book can quickly become self-indulgent/whiny and go quickly downhill. She somehow managed to be likeable and not annoying, which is probably why the book was so successful
