#37 — Satin Island

Satin Island by Tom McCarthy
Rating: 1/5
  • I don’t know if I can fairly rate this book because I don’t think I “got” much of it or much out of it
  • This I do understand — “U” is a cultural anthropologist whose entire job is to make observations and connections that exist in the world. He then takes those thoughts, sums them up in reports, then sells them to corporations so they can make money
  • It reads as a person under the influence of marijuana speaks — at times, it can sound profound and deep (it helps to be in a patient state of mind), while other times coming off as stupid ramblings (to the less tolerant, a.k.a. “M”, or Me and Myself)
