#21 — Looking for Alaska

Looking for Alaska by John Green
Rating: 3/5
  • Nothing like reading some YA to cleanse the palate. I’ve only read one other John Green novel, but they remind me of the Lurlene McDaniel books I was obsessed with when I was young — I fondly recall lots of teenage angst with some death thrown in
  • This book also reminded me of Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. Both main characters are fringe kids who left home for a dream of a more glamorous existence. Complaining about privileged rich kids is also fun — it is also one of the last acceptable groups that one can bash freely
