#78 — Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)

#78 — Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling
Rating: 4/5
  • Although it claims to target a younger audience (nieces who received the book as a gift from Aunts who want to be cool), the cultural references were tailor-made for those who grew up in the late 80s and 90s (myself included)
  • I kept hearing Mindy’s (or my recollection of Mindy’s) voice in my head as I was reading the book and I couldn’t shut it off
  • Reminded me a little bit of Lena Dunham’s book (or vice versa, since Mindy came out with her book first?) — their lives, stories, and their general way of storytelling seemed weirdly similar
