Calle Ocho

Where: 45 W 81st St, New York, NY 10024 (Between CPW and Columbus)
  • The best thing about this place are the round rolls — they are cheesy with the consistency of mochi (they serve those exclusively at dinner and they mix them in with other types of bread at brunch)
  • The rest of the food is fine, but not that great (brunch or dinner) — everything is pretty greasy and you feel disgusting afterwards
  • If you prefer drinks over food, this is the place to go — they have a million types of sangria and it’s unlimited during brunch
  • Overpriced for the quality of the food — you are paying for the service and atmosphere
  • Speaking of which, the service is well-meaning and well intended, but my dining companion got smacked in the face with a plate! The guy who did that either didn’t notice or didn’t know how to react so he acted like nothing happened. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life
