#61 — Autobiography of a Face

Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy
  • Rating: 4/5
  • When I read this book, I mistakenly thought I had read this book before; it turns out that I had read Truth and Beauty a few years back; the stories in it were pretty similar
  • Autobiography of a Face was written first; Truth and Beauty was written after Grealy’s death by her friend, Ann Patchett. This is an unfair assessment but from my perspective, Truth and Beauty seemed more complete. I felt like I gained greater insight into who Lucy was in T & B, because it not only had the advantage of hindsight but also had an objectivity that is impossible to have when talking about yourself
