#47 — Another Bullshit Night in Suck City

Another Bullshit Night in Suck City by Nick Flynn
  • Rating: 2/5
  • Like All of the Splendid Things We Planned, self-reflection was lacking; while colorfully told, it still felt clinical and detached
  • His mother kills herself shortly after reading a story he wrote about her. She mentions his story in her suicide note, but we don’t hear anything else about it afterward, which is strange. Why is it worth mentioning if there’s no discussion about how that impacted the author (or not)?
