#32 — The Fortress of Solitude

The Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem

  • Rating: 3/5
  • If you love Brooklyn history, comics, and music this book is for you
  • While there are a lot of heavy topics in the book — absentee parents, racism, white privilege, gentrification, drug use, etc etc, it doesn’t delve too deeply into much of those topics at all
  • Although considered semi-autobiographical, and you learn the facts about the author’s life, it felt clinical and detached
